Co-Turbulence

Finally, the bathroom is available! Now as long as there’s not turbulence while I’m occupied. Okay, okay, watch the elbows, sit down carefully, and…

The door to the small lavatory slid back open, a small, nervous woman pressing herself inside. Harvey looked up, face blank with shame but quickly growing crimson. For her part the woman hastily locked the door, Harvey’s tragically forgotten task upon entering the small compartment.

“Um, excuse me…”

“Yes, yes, I know. Obviously you were here first.”

“And…”

“Fine, go ahead. Don’t mind me.”

Barely gathering some wits about him, Harvey asked, “Would you mind waiting on the other side of the door?”

She sighed, “Look…” There was a pause, and Harvey couldn’t help but think this was bound to be good. She continued, “I just realized my ex is on the plane, and he just realized I’m on the plane.”

“And…”

“And I’d rather not see him, obviously.”

“So, you’re going to spend the flight in here? With me?”

“I figured you’d leave eventually.”
