Happy Halloween
The jack-o-lanterns were all aglow in front of the houses down the darkly lit street.
They walked arrogantly upright with their little cocky dip to their step when the tween-agers roamed the streets during Halloween Eve. The sparsely painted blood on their faces were the only form of a costume that could be worn to still ensure utterly coolness among peers. The tween-agers were the ones too old for costumes and trick-or-treating however not too old to secretly still want to be in the ambiance and eventually will wander up to a lit porch and get some candy now and then when none of their peers were looking.
The younger kids trick-or-treating skipped along anxiously while dragging along their parent, obsessing about the next treat from the awaiting homeowners on their porches who were expecting the ghouls and goblins.
Then there were the pranksters that loved the tricks. They hid behind bushes or trees jumping out at any unsuspecting costumed begger to get a scream.
