Dance In The Dark
~ Inspired by the Lady Gaga song of the same name ~
Dancing was her only escape from the cruel world in which she existed. Her parents pretended she didn’t exist and took every step to make sure she lived a miserable life. She took much physical and mental abuse, maybe a little more than can be bared by a soul. Although all the abuse seemed to be forgotten when she danced.
During the warm summer and cold winter nights she would leave the house and go to the old rotting shed in the backyard, and there she would dance the night away, she loved to dance in the dark because she felt so free. No one was there to look at her and her soul was free as the torment left through her graceful movements.
One day she came home to find the shed was burned down intentionally after her father found out about her dancing. The tears flooded her eyes and she now realized she had to escape, and that’s exactly what she did. She found her way through the dark to finally be able to dance in the spotlight on the Broadway Stage.
