Honestly, I didn’t find this gripping at all, but I can’t say why not.

That was a horrid, horrid ending that definitely caught me off guard. So bonus points for the surprise factor.
The story read a bit quickly, like more of a summary of a story than the story. Still, it was a really neat, albeit demented, concept and sequence of events.
