I absolutely LOVE the juxtaposition of the last two sentences in the second paragraph. It’s the sort of thing you’ve been doing all along, and it is totally brilliant.
Funny that Rae is the one who’s stone-faced and Vi isn’t. That’s kind of a reversal from how it was early on. But perhaps Rae-bot hasn’t told Vi-squishy the whole truth yet.
Yeah, this is supposed to be between real Rae and Violet, real Violet being completely oblivious to the whole situation. Thinking motivation-wise, based on mech-Violet’s reaction to everything, I didn’t see any reason why mech-Rae would risk telling her new ‘mistress’ how she came to be her property. Here my point was that Rae would be too overwhelmed with guilt to face real-Violet any longer, knowing what a gross violation she had committed and had been done to her by mech-Violet.
Kind of a lot going on here psychologically, now that I think of it.
