Mustn't remember

Seth felt a strong hand grab his collar as he got out of the car. He looked down across his shoulder and saw a woman’s blouse, shapely filled. Shoving her out of the way he went to inspect his handy-work. The three Laughing Man cronies were clearly dead, their bodies gruesome displays in the dirty alley.

He quickly went to the first body to make a show for the witnesses. Taking its wrist in his hand, he felt for a pulse. Suddenly he felt a quick stab of pain into his ribs. He looked up, his jaw clenched, into…

That face.

Her face. No, it couldn’t be her face, she was gone. But it she looked
remarkably similar. They could’ve been sisters, twin sisters. The red hair, that fierce expression. He didn’t want to remember—

“What the hell are you doing?” The woman yelled. “Are you insane?” she
continued, but didn’t strike him again. Seth got up and dusted off his jacket. “I lost control of my car.” he said, laying on a fake Spanish accent. Mustn’t remember he thought earnestly to himself Not now.
