Colonel Sanders in Outer Space
Liliana emptied her glass of vitamin water and set it on the counter with a clink. “I want you to know how I feel, Phillip.”
“I’ve been waiting a long time to have this conversation.”
“You really need to hear this, because I don’t think it’s what you want me to say.”
“Be upfront. I’ve always said we should be honest with one another.”
“Phillip, this affair isn’t working for me any more, and I want it to end. I want to get back together with my husband, Colonel Sanders.”
The sound of the space transporters docking drifted through the lunar space station. Three more pilots announced their intentions to dock and Liliana told them to stand by.
Phillip watched, confused and hurt. After the docking maneuver was complete, the pilot entered the control tower and greeted him. “Colonel Sanders here, nice to meet you. And please, no jokes about fried chicken,” he said with a handsome smile.
“Of course not, Colonel,” Phillip answered.
“Thanks, space cadet! Hey, where I can get some chicken wings around here?”
