I love the last sentence. You do keep swapping tenses, though, which grates a little.

I liked this but it seems like the last part ruined the feel of it for me. Mousey went bye-bye, kinda took away the more mature feel for me. It’s not a bad line I just think it would fit better in a more serious way. Good Job though! :)
