Retail: Product Return

“How can I help?” the manager asked as he approached the customers and the co-worker at the product return desk.

“We were trying to return this game and she won’t give us our money back.” the male customer said in an angry voice.

“Okay, let me take a look and see what is happening.” he said as he turned towards the co-worker.

“He bought the game with a coupon,” she said as she handed him the receipt and the game “but thinks we are not giving him a full refund.”

He was pleased with her response as it should no signs of agitation. Also, she gave him a clue on the issue. He scanned over the receipt and then looked at the return amount listed on the computer screen. Both amounts matched.

“She is not giving us the $19.99 back, only $16.99.” the customer said.

“Sir, the game was originally $19.99, but with the coupon you used, the final price was $16.99.”

“The game is worth $19.99” the customer replied. “Which means I get $19.99 back.”

“But you only paid $16.99 for it.” The manager sighed internally.
