wouldn’t failing to kill the guy mean that the war still happens and the world wouldn’t change 100 years from now, and therefore the machine would still be created? Wouldn’t killing the guy ensure that the machine wouldn’t need to be created, and therefore after killing him the machine would cease to exist?
I like how the machine is becoming its own character with its own emotions. It raises cool questions—what war? Who was supposed to be killed? Fix up some of the run-on sentences, though, and it’ll be great.
