Inevitable
I don’t know if I should be angry at him. I’m mad deep inside, but his gorgeous green eyes make the angry fade and I’m left with just sadness.
“Yeah… we, uh, we went,” I finally say.
“Oh, I didn’t see you there. Can’t believe I missed you,” he says. Is this flirting? Or just him being friendly? I can never tell with boys, which is why I’m always single. I don’t know what to say after that, but he doesn’t move. He just looks at me with a little disappointment and then a beautiful smile overtakes his serious face.
“What? Is there something on my face?” I ask, unsure at what he’s smiling at.
“No, no no! I just wanted to ask, since we didn’t get to hang Friday that, maybe, we could today? You could bring your friend too if you want,” he says. His eyes seem to be pleading that I say yes. So I do.
Say yes. I agree, though, that it should just be us two. Shay might be busy with something else anyway and this can be the perfect time to ask the question I had been dreading to ask.
