now there ya go! this was a great sequel, it pulled the others together nicely, solving the dilemma, and giving us a sweet wizard to look upon with awe. :)

Great jump right into fantasy and magic and creatures and whatnot. That ending was suitably gore-filled I thought. Nicely done.

Elsha pins it, “to look upon with awe.” Your descriptions of Therys are dramatic and his actions command respect. The confidence and ease he displays in bringing the established menace of Gorm to heal, using enough force to fuse the sand to glass, identifies him as a powerful champion.

So, basically, it has to all go wrong for him in the next chapter. =)

My hackles tend to rise when I see (with little context) a formerly impressive heroine get her fat pulled from the fryer by a lead male, but it’s a well written scene. Strong five. On the side. =)

Also, repetition. Gotta love it.

hmm, not much left to say really since everyone has already said it. This is a very powerful piece and Therys is a sweep-you-off-your-feet character. Turning the sand to glass was a nice touch.

I wish Therys hadn’t overshadowed Juno quite so much but there isn’t really any other way this sequel could have gone. So what am I complaining about! :)

After reading the original piece and its prequel, I’m not sure where the idea is coming from that Juno is an impressive heroine. She rules a kingdom, yes. However, Gorm is defying her directly to her face precisely because she is weak (as was her father before her), and I presume she had to summon the magician for a reason. I didn’t “pull anyone’s fat from the fryer” here; I merely worked within the context of what I was given.

I would say the ground melted into glass. Or began to melt into glass but that is merely a turn of phrase thing.

Corpse is a strange word to use because Therys tries to save him. Unless you intended us to know that it’s already hopeless. If you didn’t, body would be a better word.

Apart from that, I think you’ve created quite a suspensful piece. I love the repetition and the power of all of the characters. I agree with thelostgirl and hope that Juno will develop as she led us to the scene.
