As I’m walking down the street,
She nudges her friend in my direction.
But as our eyes meet,
It is then we shared that connection.
Time slowed down,
And the world was in our possession.
It was in her glance
That I saw my true reflection.

I’ll never know what she was doing that night.
I’ll never even know her name.
But those 5 seconds we spent together
Changed the way I play the game.
It was a sure sign of good things to come,
Even if it wasn’t for that long.
It was then I finally felt
That in this world, I actually belong.

As I’m strutting down the street,
Leaving my smile in her place,

Especially that bright look upon her face.
My actions meant something to her
