Aha, Juno’s disappearance explained. Damn sneaky Denar. Therys is going to have to crack some heads.
I think calling her’ people’, her ‘villagers’ reduces Juno’s stature a bit. I think a few sequels ago it was suggested she was a Queen so it’s better to use broad terms when referring to the people she rules.
All the weeping she does at the end seems out of character to me, not just from the previous sequels but even from your first paragraph. She’s getting her head bashed off the ground and managing to remain conscious throughout so the fact that she’s crying because she misses Therys seems a bit unlikely.
I did like that you hinted that there is something between Therys and Juno (because there SO is!) and the use of bold text was very well employed.
I was unsure about the bold, so thank you. I’m aiming to use the tears at the end to indicate her guilt, since as far as she knows, Therys died when Gorm ate him. Also, I glanced back at some of the earlier stories and I couldn’t remember her exact title, but she is a queen? And does her nation have a name?
Very good continuation – many thanks for clearing up Juno’s disappearance. I hope that Therys and Juno get together in the end they would be very sweet as a couple. Also…their kids would be MAGICAL =D
And we are go for love interest. Repeat, we are a go for love interest. I hadn’t really seen it before, but I guess all the subtleties are there. Just something else to work into the story. :-) I liked this overall, and I’m glad we have Juno’s disappearance explained.
The only real issue I have with this piece is the repetition of the root word “cry” three times in the last paragraph. This may have been done intentionally for dramatic effect, but it doesn’t really work for me. You might want to use some synonyms like “weep” or “sob” to vary the text a bit.
