January 4th

I told you I had fallen in love with John Green. I ran out the next day and bought all of his books.

“Reading again?” Laura asked as we walked to school.

“You know about my New Years resolution, I’m not about to quit on the 4th day.” I replied.

“We’ll see how long this resolution lasts,” she laughed.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” I questioned not looking up from my book.

“Remember the one we both made last year about eating no candy?”

“First of all the eating no candy resolution was your idea, and pretty much the stupidest one I’ve ever hea-”

Before I could finish my sentence I slammed into someone and fell to the ground. My bag sprayed pencils and notes across the sidewalk.

Then came the wind….
