Day 8: I Am the Messenger By Markus Zusak

January 8th

“What’s this?” I ask as Robin hands me a book.

“Kind of a sorry for being such a jerk these past couple of days gift,” he replied.

“No you-”

“I was, don’t try to defend me, plus I would have given you it anyway it’s one of my favorites.”

I smiled, “What’s it about?”

“This guy who’s an underage cabdriver and horrible card player. He lives in Australia and is madly in love with his best friend. One day he unintentionally stops a bank robbery. That’s when he gets his first card, and sets the whole story in motion.” Robin explained.

“Oh?”

“You’ll love it trust me, do you have plans for tonight?”

“Um, John and I were going to work on our project.”

There was an uncomfortable silence between us.

“Right, Lacy and I should probably start ours.”

“I’m free tomorrow though.” I said.

“Cool, I’ll call you, don’t forget to read the book, the main character is very easy to relate to, at least to me.” He said leaving.

Now what exactly did Robin have in common with an underage Australian cabdriver?
