Postcards from Long Ago 13
“After the Sporad Incident happened, the world was sent into a panic…”
The world was left in shambles after it happened; people were panicking and trying to get below ground. The underground cities were overcrowded, as they doubled as bomb shelters. People on the other side of the globe had more time to get to safety, but not much. The whole world was soon infected with Sporad, and what was left of the atmosphere quickly turned sour. I put on a suit that I had grabbed from the base and tried to help people into the University. I saw my wife’s friend, ‘0947, carrying my daughter, an infant, into the shelter. I saw a young girl, maybe only ten years old, in a wheel chair waiting for help. I grabbed her out of her chair and carried her down the tube. I had saved her…
“She survived. You know her, right? 901699? She’s sitting right over there.” I say, and she glances and nods. We begin eating, and the day is over before we know it.
