Lovely thought. So, gunning for my position as blogger, are you? Well then…actually I probably wouldn’t put up much of a fight. Thanks for the thought.
I was wondering about the blog earlier actually – can anybody write something for it? Or is THX keeper of the blog?
Not that I want to write anything for it, but if a flash of inspiration came then I wanted to know if I could put it down…
Anyhoo, the story was very good – and clearly the quote, which I will not quote, as Abby has already quoted, was inspired and inspirational all at once – I feel all warm and fuzzy inside now… Well, not quite, but hey.
This is very nicely written, but I am wary of the advice to not post anything negative. Not all writing is good, and unless the bad parts are pointed out to an author, he or she will continue to make the same mistakes and never improve. Posting nothing but praise would be a disservice to everyone on this site. This may not have been what you meant, but that is what it reads like to me.
This is not to say that you must be rude in your comments, though. You use the word criticism in your piece as if it is something to avoid when that is far from the case. There is such a thing as constructive criticism.
Tell the author what you like about their piece, and tell them what you don’t like about it. After you tell them what you don’t like, make suggestions on what they can do to improve it. I have never seen a piece on this site that didn’t have something going for it, so this shouldn’t be hard to do.
In closing, I will close with a closing punctuation mark that closes thoughts.
Thank you Bri-on :) and I couldn’t have said it better myself, Kae. That’s actually what I wanted to convey. That Negative criticism opposed to Constructive criticism (or critiques) were something to beware of. Thank you for clarifying :)
