Once upon a time, when I was an insecure thirteen year old girl, trying to write a story worth reading, I stumbled onto a site called Ficlets.com.

It took me upwards of a month for me to get up the courage to actually post a story – I was so sure that it would be met with instant rejection. However, it was not, and thus I met my first online friend – blusparrow. The comment she left on that first story gave me enough courage to continue writing, ended with three kind words: “Welcome to Ficlets.”

Blusparrow has a unique voice and has a talent for writing beautiful stories.

But even more important than that, in my book, is the way that she was the first one to ever make me feel like a true part of the Ficlets family.
