This is really cute. I love how you take the color purple and give it so much deepth.

Interesting thought, basing a story around interpretation of a phrase… Not much going on, but some lovely imagery.

Some bits stick out as a bit off, for example I think you have an affinity ‘with’ something, not ‘for’ it, and the repetition of the word ‘affinity’ is a bit grating anyway… Not sure about ‘purple fanatic’ being a special term for somebody who loves purple either.

But the central idea is nice, and the tale of how it runs in the family is well-written, so well done – MH :)
