Clearly this is a springboard for a series, because there’s not really enough to it to be appreciated as a standalone piece… I instantly thought the main character was female when you used ‘brunette’ – I don’t think it reads well when describing a man. But it’s interesting, with lots of unanswered questions and tension in there – reading on… MH :)
