This was really enjoyable – I like that you didn’t milk it for laughs, you placed more emphasis on the awkwardness and embarrassment, which, for an English person, would be painfully acute – awkwardness is like a cardinal sin over here!

I liked how this was more about the message than the story, and it had some sweet thoughts in it.

I liked the story part of the story, but not the discursive bit. That could’ve been left for the reader, I felt, with more storytelling (or really, story showing) and less explaining … still, suffused with compassion, which is always lovely.
