This is the first story I have read that has been meaningful and incorporated wild drunks. Lately I have also been grappling with the concept of freedom – is stealing/breaking other people’s possessions going too far?
Also, it is interesting that only when in a state of drunken happiness he wants to live forever, questioning the realms of reality. Is his world real, or is the sober one real?
I really enjoyed this, and the broken lamp being stepped on the way out was a great touch.
