The After Life
Karesh more or less stood in front of the largest building he had ever seen. It was beautiful yet grotesque at the same time, if there was such a thing. He was with a group of other people from his home planet of Janeth. He recognized some heads of state, some high end scientists, the pinnacle of their civilization. “But why am I here?” Karesh asked himself. He wasn’t as high profile as a lot of the men and women that stood before him. Sure he was in the military but everyone was near the end when his home was torn apart by creatures Karesh never even saw face-to-face. Those brutal creatures killed women and children ruthlessly, body parts torn apart as if it was sport. It was brutal and grotesque—“there’s that word again,” he thought.
The commotion at the front of the group stirred Karesh from his thoughts. Someone brighter than their morning star was walking towards them.
He smiled as he looked at the crowd before him. He spoke, calm and peaceful, “My name is Isyldor, welcome to Paradise.”
