Dream Fulfillment Part One (bucket list)
The hotel concierge squinted at my friend, carrying my luggage. I had booked the room for one. I smiled innocently as he handed me my keycards.
“I can’t believe you’re here!” my friend gushed as soon as the elevator doors closed. “How was your first flight?”
“Not as bad as I thought.” I watched the floors zoom past in digital red numbers instead of his face. He was practically bouncing on his toes.
The doors opened on the top floor and I led him to the door marked 705. But before Islid the key into the electronic reader, I paused and turned to him.
“I have 3 questions.” I declared.
“Okay.” He was up for any challenge.
“One: Did you take your medication?”
“Yes.”
“Two: Are you currently under the influence of any other substances.”
“No.”
I eyed him, but he appeared to be telling the truth.
“Three: promise me you won’t do anything I don’t do.”
He laughed. I raised my eyebrows at him. “Yeah okay, you lead.”
I unlocked the door.
“Wow, Elsh! This room is amazing!”
“Complementary upgrade.”
