This is remarkably well-written. I especially like the bit about how the true torture is the offense to his artistic sensibilities, rather than the attempted brainwashing.

Really great story ElshaHawk. I think the only thing I was confused about is where the prisoners are getting the painting implements. The whispering part is really awesome, and I love the last line.
