January 21st

“Okay so I know you don’t believe that books aren’t like life but I do. I was reading this book, Erin and her best friend Jilly have been inseparable since the first grade. When they begin attending middle school they are given totally opposite schedules, stop giving me that look this story has a point to it, Erin thinks she cannot survive 7th grade without her best friend. She is crushed when the boy that she secretly likes loves Jilly. Eventually, she discovers a lot about herself—and the value of a Tootsie Pop.” I rambled.

I watched Robins lips parted into a smile.

“Now I know this isn’t really that similar to our situation, but Erin pretty much loses Jilly. I don’t want that to happen to us. You’re my best friend Robin and I couldn’t bear losin—”

“Kat, you don’t have to worry about that. I will be here for you always.”

“Pinky promise?”

“Pinky promise.” He laughed as we hooked fingers.
