okay, so this was a mish mash of stories… but as a singular piece, shouldn’t she be able to handle the body? i guess she was certain it would be dead, but it wasn’t.. that surprised her? I wasn’t surprised. I expected that she wouldn’t be… i guess i wanted her to be some awesome zombie huntress/vampire killer type sorceress or something, and she turned out to be a chicken! :P
hmm, didn’t get the relationship, but i wasn’t dissing, just letting you know how I read it so you could grow and learn.. this challenge is hard enough, but you’ve got a whole epic setup here! i hope i can help you tighten it up.
Very spooky and creepy, and I didn’t mind so much that the whole vampire/zombie/buried alive thing was left unsaid, which I do realize now that I write them was partially due to those words all being more than 4 letters. Great job on the challenge and creating a painful and spooky little scene. If it is zombie, I’ve definitely spent some time on that myself, trying to think through what we would do societally as far as burial and such if zombies became a reality.
This is great. Very mysterious. It goes so smoothly and you manage to make it look like there isn’t a 4-char limit, which shown by the other entries is very hard. Grats!
I think short words lend themselves well to this genre – you’ve used the challenge to create a tense, minimalist piece that works because it doesn’t try to get the effect of long words, it goes with a different approach.
I thought the title was weak, it certainly doesn’t do the story justice – and multiple exclamation marks make me deeply sad, but the content was impressive genre work… MH :)
