I’m a little confused on the ending, but I have an assumption that she leaves for Kenny.

This has two distinct themes for me – the theatre being a nice way into love, and also the fact that theatre isn’t for everyone – having an audience laugh at The Crucible was possibly the best choice of dramatic humiliation out there!
