Btw I’ve never heard maman before. i thought it was a typo at first, but seeing it a second time changed my mind. It’s mom or mama right? Idk maybe it’s a french thing?

Maman is French for Mama…Degas was French, and his pictures were painted at the Paris Opera Ballet, so I set the story in France =]

Is there no bounds to your creative inclusion of ballet and violins?

This was really very good, though I did feel the ending was a little melodramatic considering the more innocent, conservative style of the rest of the piece… Just a thought?

Still, another brilliant entry to the challenge, I don’t envy Grad Up when it comes to judging it! MH :)

I enjoyed this piece, yet I find it hard to believe a ten year old would be picked to join a ballet company. What time period is this set it?

Wow, talk about a back-story in stark contrast to the painting. This was very interesting to read and made all the more interesting once I Googled the artwork. Nicely done!
