Fearless
“We should go somewhere else.”
“What? Where are we going?” I asked as Tom tugged me towards the car quickly, the drizzle slowly turning into rain. “Wh-! Where are we going? You’re gonna ruin my dress!”
“Come on! It’s a surprise.”
Tom pulled out of the parking lot, driving along the empty streets, his fingers raking through his rain-soaked hair. I bit my lip as I continued to watch him, managing to catch his eye a few times when he looked at me. He smiled, his hands turning the car towards a lonely coffee shop parking lot.
“Dance with me.”
My eyes widened as Tom opened the passenger door, rain pouring all around him. I stared up at him in surprise, my hand shaking as he held out his hand to me, waiting for me to take it. He smiled when I took it without hesitation, his fingers lightly grazing my waist as he pulled me closer to dance.
“What are we doing?”
“Convincing you to fall in love with me.”
I looked up at him and he kissed me.
I was jumping in headfirst and my best friend was making me fearless.
