Right. Clearly a story of two halves, what with the introduction of a fairy towards the end!
I enjoyed this more before Ginger was introduced, it felt very human, very realistic -strong dialogue and interesting characters…
Perhaps it’s the fact that magic is the ultimate problem solver kind of undermines the human struggle facing Dan, I’m not sure, just, if you continue this, don’t lose sight of the realism which drew me in in the first place… MH :)
Trust me. This story isn’t going anywhere you think it might be. I wanted to write this as a vehicle for more Ginger storytelling (she’s a character I introduced in an earlier set of Ficly stories), but it’s going to focus on a completely different side of her personality. I truly hate “magic as an infinite problem-solver” sort of stories, so this is definitely intended as essentially the complete opposite of that. :)
