Nice job having the scene tell a lot about what’s going on.
Just to nitpick, that’s very unprofessional of the counselor to jump in and not only side with the wife but comfort and console her. It’d also be outside of normal practice bounds to have separate sessions.
Still, it worked for the story to show how both parties were a bit twisted and manipulative.

I know that the counselor is not as unbiased as she should be but it suited the story.
