Christina’s World by Andrew Wyeth
I don’t know how keen I was on the back story you have your character, but at the same time, I found the first paragraph equisite… ‘Better to die in the sweet-smelling grass next to her childhood home than in a bed with a venereal disease from a sweaty old man.’ What a line. Good work, even if I do feel it didn’t quite maintain the level of detail and intrigue throughout – MH :)

LOVE IT…wyeth’s piece gives me the same distraught emotions as your story.
I really liked this. You captured the reality of many women’s lives throughout history and today as well as a new perspective on the painting. I am a fan of Wyeth and I never saw this painting in that light. Well done.
