This was an interesting perspective to accompany the other stories. A couple of things, though: 1) I think you mean “widow” instead of “window,” and 2) his body wouldn’t be cold, having just passed away, so “chilled” is probably not a good adjective to use there.
I’m not certain that a hospital orderly would be the one to remove the medical equipment from a body. He would, however, be the one that would be called in to mop up the bodily fluids and pick up the discarded wrappers, caps and prepare the room for the next patient. As such he would probably not be waiting outside the room but would be called in after the body had been removed.
I think a morgue attendent would be removing the medical stuff. Either that or one of the nurses if the family wanted to view the body before it was removed.
Still, the respect and deference of those who do such work is often forgotten. Good Job
I’ve seen med techs, which is the equivalent of an orderly, sort of, and nurses do this kind of work—mostly just whoever draws the short straw. And I’ll do those little edits now from the first comment.
