WHAT?

I thought her parents hated her or something— the way you pitched it it seemed so. So— why are her parents, well her dad at least— being nice?!

SO confused now! I guess her dad is the logical half drunk, and her mom is the illogical, drunk one? That’s my guess, at least.

Her dad isn’t a drunk. He was just abusive, towards the mother mostly.

Her parents never hated her, her mom just always has been drunk. Besides, Staie’s pregnant, maybe that changes people.

I like the dad’s reaction, a crisis can bring out the good in people.
But, when you say, “he puts his hands on his templates and rubs them…” If you’re referring to the side of the head behind the eyes, that’s called the ‘temples’ :)
