Desk #6: Heidi Finn

Heidi doodled aimless caricatures of Boobins with boobs and random staring eyes onto her notebook. Why were Maths lessons so boring? Heidi wished she could just act all the time: every single lesson, drama. She played scenes of Shakespeare that she had learned by heart through her mind as the teacher droned on about Pythagoras.

She stared longingly at the dark brown hair one desk in front of her. Heidi loved that hair, how it flicked backwards at the crook of his neck. She had been in love with Randy Lee since the third grade, but he hadn’t even noticed her.

“Timothy Brooks!” Heidi looked around to see a sheepish Liz, pulling the hoops out of her ears, as Tim leaned smugly back in his chair, Dobbins shouting manically. Heidi and Matt exchanged a hopeless look as the idiot was sent out of the classroom. Tim was the typical popular kid, and he treated anyone who wasn’t popular like scum, namely Heidi.

As the bell rang, Randy turned around, asking, “Can I borrow a pencil?” Heidi’s heart skipped a beat.
