I walked into school in my usual Monday morning trance. I hated Mondays. Luckily the last day of school was in two days. I walked right to Jared’s locker. We met there every morning, our group of friends clogging up the hallway. Bri and Megan were already there.
“Hey Cate!” Megan said in her to happy voice. I just stared at her. How can anyone be so happy in the morning?
“What?” She asked. I just shook my head, a smile forming. She could always make me smile. She’s just so dumb sometimes it makes me laugh. I looked down the hallway trying to find Jared and Sarah. I saw Jared turn the corner, a huge smile forming as he looked down the hall. I looked to see what he was smiling at. My little smile fell as I saw Lucas at his locker. Jared walked right past and slammed his locker shut. As if that wasn’t enough he knocked the books Lucas had in his hands to the floor. Everyone in the hallway began laughing at Lucas. Jared just continued walking as Lucas picked up his books.
