Lucas-part 2

I stared sadly at the decrepit remains that lay on the table of the neighbor’s cat. They’d probably come around soon to everyone’s homes, asking where Fluffy went. Little would they know that he was still around, just in the basement of one smart child.
As I continued to stare I began to think of Cate and how terrified she looked today. I didn’t mean to scare her, instead trying to show my toughness towards Jared. I don’t think I’d get anywhere with her without looking like a tough guy.
But I probably only caused her nightmares. I clenched my fist on a knife and stabbed the carcass with it in anger, “God, why am I such an idiot??”
The real question was though, what would she think of my plan? If she was terrified of a mere glare, what would she think of what I had in mind for all those that hurt me in the past and present?
I scooped up the remains and threw them in the trashcan, then cleaned everything off.
I had to ready the table for my next victim.
