“You don’t need to worry; I won’t let you get hurt.” He whispered. He wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed me. He let go of my hands and wrapped his arms around me. I felt my hands tangle themselves in his hair and pull him closer to me. I was feeling more reassured every second. Suddenly the doorbell rang. I jumped away from him. He laughed at me and went and opened the door. He came back into the room with Megan, Sarah, and Nick.
“Hey Cate!” Megan yelled.
“Hey Megan!” I yelled back, suddenly in a better mood. We went and grabbed snacks from the kitchen then went in the basement. Nick and Sarah instantly turned on the Wii and began playing tennis. Megan and I got my laptop and played solitaire and Jared went to lay down on the couch. I looked over at him. He was laying there looking right at me with a smile on his face. I gave my laptop to Megan and went over to him.
“You okay?” I asked kneeling next to him.
“Of course” he said taking my face in his hands and pulling it towards him.
