First, I love the title. I am too immature to say “Rattlesnake Dick” without giggling. Second, this is a fun take on the challenge. You have captured that classic western feel. For some reason, this reminds me of Blazing Saddles. I liked it.

Definetely a western! It’s a different take on a western but as PE said, it certainly has the feel.

I struggled with this for several days before writing the final draft.

Rattlesnake had so many adventures during the gold rush days, including an extensive stint as a highwayman and also as a saloon proprietor.

His long running affair with an otherwise unsoiled opera singer is rumopred to have been one of the romantic highlights of Nevada county in the years before the Great Fire that wiped out most of the thriving boom town of Grass Valley.

We may be hearing from Rattlesnake Dick again from time to time
