Exit Stage Right

“Does Rodgers know about this” I asked.

“Captain Rodgers is an officer and a gentleman. He in no way would sanction any unauthorized actions.”

“Thank you Sergeant.” I turned and headed towards the Hummer. As I did so I looked towards Rodgers. He was still on the radio with someone but looked me in the eyes and jerked his thumb as though to tell me to get out.

I picked up the weapon and phone. I walked as quickly as I could without being noticed by the MP’s back to my car.

Rodgers was calling all the MP’s to bring the Hummers to the other end of the parking lot and to shine their headlights towards the opposite end. They formed a semi circle about 150 feet across. I heard the rotors of a helicopter approaching and thought that this would be a good time to leave.

I started the car and drove out of the entry way, just as a Blackhawk helicopter was coming in for a landing in the lighted part of the parking lot.

Now I only needed to know where to go next.
