Not Very Complicated At All
“Well, anyways, I have to go home, my mom only let me out for an hour.” said Cy, standing up. “She wants me to finish unpacking.”
“Ok, well see you later!” Mandy said brightly. “Hey, wait, when do you start at Eastbrook?”
“Next Monday!” he said, then waved and left. The moment the door swung shut behind him, Beck popped up from the next booth.
“Is he gone?” she said wildly.
“Yes, he’s gone.” Mandy replied, rolling her eyes at Theo, who chuckled. Beck climbed back into her seat and grabbed her milkshake from Theo.
“Monday!” she practically shouted. “Do you know what day it is, Mandy?”
“Um.” said Mandy. “Friday?”
“Two days, Mandy! Two days! That’s all I’ve got!”
“All you’ve got for WHAT, Beck?”
“To call him, of course! I can’t see him again without having called him, he might mention it!” Beck groaned and put her head in her hands. “Now I DO have a time limit.”
“That,” said Theo, “is ridiculous. I assure you, we men are not that complicated.”
