“Nice. That was fast,” Jani said, voice filled with excitment.
“Well, I’ve been doing this for a long time. I’d be worried if I was slow,” I told her, laughing. She smiled, and we hurried to the next house.
“Can I try this one?” Jani asked as we entered the house. I bit my lip, thinking. It would be good experience for her. But she might wake up the kid. Well she’ll have to do it sometime, I thought.
“Find. Just be careful,” I said. We landed on the bed, and Jani disappeared under the pillow. After a long time, she came out.
She was grinning, holding up a tooth.
“Congrats. You’re a tooth fairy,” I whispered, smiling.
