A Plan
Once the girls were positioned on the bed, Beck pulled the paper out of her pocket and smoothed in in her hand.
“Ok.” said Mandy. “So you have to call him. That’s cool, right? It’s easy, you’ll just call, have a conversation, and hang up. You’re sixteen, for God’s sake, it’s not that hard.”
“It’s hard because he’s cute!” whined Beck. “Oh, Mandy, I’m absolutely pathetic. I think I’m the only girl in our grade who’s never gone out with a guy!”
“Well, make this your first. Go on!” Mandy prompted. Beck pulled her cell phone out of her pocket and punched in the number. She held her finger over the call button…
“Wait! I can’t do this!”
Mandy groaned. “Why, Beck!?”
“I just saw him! It would be creepy to call so soon!”
“But he didn’t know you were there, Becky! Just call him already!”
“I’ll call him tomorrow. I can ask him where he’s going to school and when he says Eastbrook I can be all ’that’s my school yay!’”
“He knows you go there though, remember he mentioned you at the restaurant?”
