Oh my gosh, this was fabulous. I thought it was a pen at first, then I thought it was a sword, then it was revealed to be a pen- you kept me guessing. Very well written and I like the O. Henry surprise ending quality.

Lovely ode to the power of the pen. I got the pen thing pretty early, but that was okay. It all worked well together and made for a very dramatic piece about writing.
