Just as Bad
“I didn’t mean it as a bad thing!” protested Beck. She pulled into her driveway and turned off Darla. “I just- I mean, you care about her, and that’s-” Suddenly her face grew suspicious. “That’s really sweet…”
Theo flushed. “Yeah, whatever, now get out of the car, I’m late for Sociology-”
“Theo!” Beck grabbed his arm to stop him leaving. “Oh my god, you LIKE her, don’t you?”
“Psh- no- why would you- nooo-” flustered Theo. “Just, I have to leave, get out-”
“Wow! I can’t wait to tell Mandy!” Beck climbed out of Darla and started towards her door.
“No!” Theo ran after her and jumped in front of her. “You- you can’t tell Mandy, Beck, you can’t, please don’t…”
“Oh, fine.” Beck sighed. “Theo, you’re eighteen, you should know how to deal with this sort of thing. Just tell her yourself.”
“Uh, sure…” said Theo. He awkwardly clapped Beck on the shoulder and then turned and fled back to Darla.
Beck chuckled and turned back towards her house. “Men..” she muttered. “Just as bad as sixteen year old girls.”
