Late night conversations

Growing up with a brother there are certain bonds that grew with my parents. I would relate more to my dad and my brother would relate more to my mom. Then somehow the bonds meshed into one.

I blame my sister for the changeover.

hehe.

No the real moment I knew I could talk to my mom about anything was one night we watched the Sandra Bullock movie “While You Were Sleeping” It’s a cute romantic comedy that my mom and I quote often and still laugh about to this day.

At any rate after our first full viewing of this film, which we had on a recorded VHS, we stayed up and talked for hours about life, what I wanted to do as a career, school, jobs, whatever. It was at that point I felt the changeover from kid to parent to adult to parent.

Being a night owl myself, and my mom sometimes waking up in the wee hours of the morning, we would still to this day have long conversations that I miss so much now that I don’t live at home anymore.

Today (Feb 16th) is her birthday.

I love you Mom.

Happy Birthday
