I’m curious as to what’s gone on before this, but the main thing that’s glaring at me is the first line: Brotherhood’s singular, so it should be “was” instead of “were.”
Gotta love singular nouns that include something plural. I still think that because “brotherhood” is singular, even though it includes multiple people, should be followed by “was”… but I suppose it could be like refering to the government as “it” or “they”, depending on whether you’re talking about the entire entity itself, or specifically the people involved.
The other plurals referring to the group are alright, it’s just the one in that first sentence that bothers me.
