This is the other location where I thought the nuclear part might be revealed. I could have kept the VX attack as the main object, and introduced the nukes here as a heightened climax.
Who cares about nukes of VX, what’s really gripping is the personal betrayal and this poor guy’s sense of shock that she isn’t who he thought and the depths of her commitment to fanaticism. Weapons aside, i think that’s really the core fear evoked by our modern warfare, the idea that anybody could fanatic and do something really crazy, like shoot you in the gut.
I think where you revealed the nuclear component is the right spot for it. It heightens the tension and hits us square in our greatest fears of terrorism.
As a religous person and as a woman, I can understand Rashida’s reasoning as to her motivations for doing this. Abhore what she is doing, but can understand why someone who had been educated with this fanatacism would do it.
